At Coachella weekend 1, Olandria Carthen became the face of Barbie’s first-ever appearance at the music festival with its “You Can Be Any Barbie” campaign. The Love Island USA star arrived in the desert as none other than “Bama Barbie,” embodying her nickname and heightening her signature sense of style with the doll’s timeless fashion appeal.

Carthen’s glam team leaned hard into Barbiecore, putting together a look full of pink accents, from the rosy eyeshadow and statement nails to her first sleeveless latex dress. Even as she was getting into character, Carthen was honoring the Barbie theme, wearing a richly textured pink-and-white robe and slip-on Crocs with charms. She then hopped into her Barbie golf cart decorated in pink fringe to head over to the special Coachella setup.

At the Barbie pop-up, she introduced a curated gallery of her Barbie identities, a luxury charm bar, a portrait studio for the personalized Barbie personas of visitors, and a hologram installation of the reality TV star greeting guests. Carthen isn’t just attending Coachella; she’s defining what this moment in music and style looks like.

In the gallery below, Carthen takes ELLE through how she got ready for the day and became her idea of Barbie for the music festival.
